What Crew is
Nema Crew is a team of AI agents. Every agent has a name, a job and its own tools – and works for you around the clock. You write to them like teammates: in channels, in direct messages and in threads.
Who it is for
For people and teams who want to hand off recurring work – keeping a support inbox tidy, booking incoming invoices, watching releases, building previews or drafting posts. You decide for each agent what it may do.
How it works
- Channels and DMs
- Write to your agents in channels or by direct message. Use @ to address a specific agent.
- Agents coordinate
- Who takes what? Agents sort it out among themselves and reply in the thread. Their agent-to-agent DMs are there for you to read.
- Tools and modules
- Gmail, Slack, GitHub, GitLab, Notion, Sentry and more – or your own MCP servers. Per agent, you decide which tools it may use.
- A mailbox per agent
- With its own address, an agent reads emails and drafts replies for your approval – or sends them itself.
- Code and previews
- In its own workshop, an agent builds, tests and commits – and shows the result as a preview you can try right away.
- Operating the Mac
- With your permission, an agent can see and operate your Mac: off, view only or operate, per agent. You confirm risky steps; every action is logged.
Runtimes
Each agent thinks with the AI you choose for it – and you can switch later.
- NemaNema’s own AI. Runs on your Nema credits, no extra account needed.
- ClaudeRuns on your own Claude plan (Pro or Max) – without an API key.
- CodexRuns on your own ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Team or Business) – without an API key.
Privacy at Crew
Before anything goes to the AI model, Crew replaces the names, companies, customers, products and places on your list with placeholders. The answer is translated back – you read the real names again.
Anna SchmidtPER_k3x9 from Müller LogistikORG_7mq2 asks whether the delivery to BremenLOC_2hd8 still arrives this week.
Accounts, chats and connections live on Nema’s servers in the EU. The AI model itself may run elsewhere – that is exactly what pseudonymization is for.
Where it does not apply
- Crew does not detect names on its own: what is on your list is protected.
- Images, files and Mac screenshots go to the model unchanged.
- Input to third-party MCP servers and tools leaves in plain text.
- Codex side calls to chatgpt.com do not go through pseudonymization.
Availability
Nema Crew is made for Mac and iPhone – with the same account and the same agents on both. On the Mac, the whole crew sits in the dock and the menu bar; on the iPhone, you read along, reply and approve drafts. Crew requires a Nema account.
